Baton Rouge, LA – March 26, 2026
We are proud to announce that on March 25, 2026, the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council officially adopted a proclamation declaring March 11 as “Dream Day Foundation Day” in the City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish.
The proclamation recognizes the Dream Day Foundation’s more than 30 years of dedicated service to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the hundreds of families we have supported right here in our community. It also highlights our deep, long-standing partnerships with local law enforcement and first responders who have stood alongside us every step of the way.
During the Metropolitan Council meeting, the proclamation was formally read. Immediately afterward, heartfelt group photographs were taken with:
- Mayor-President Sid Edwards
- Baton Rouge Police Department Motor Division
- East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office Motor Division
- Baton Rouge Fire Department Chief Michael Kimble
- Dream Day Foundation Board Members and Representatives
This powerful moment underscores the strong collaborative spirit that defines our work. For more than 30 years, the Baton Rouge Police Department, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office and surrounding law enforcement agencies have partnered with us through the annual Gulf Coast Police Motorcycle Skills Championship, raising critical funds for St. Jude. That same spirit of service shines brightly each year at our flagship Fishin’ Galore event, where officers from the BRPD Motor Division and K9 Unit, EBRSO Motor Division along with members of the Baton Rouge Fire Department and other law enforcement volunteers, generously give their time. They provide safe escort for St. Jude families attending the event and assist with activities helping to create joyful, memorable experiences for children undergoing treatment and their loved ones.
As we move forward in 2026, this proclamation comes at a perfect time. Dream Day Foundation is expanding our mission to provide direct resources and hands-on support to St. Jude families currently receiving treatment at the Baton Rouge St. Jude Affiliate Clinic designed to ease the burdens families face every day.
We are deeply grateful to Mayor-President Sid Edwards and the members of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council for this recognition. It stands as a lasting tribute to the power of community, compassion, and partnership — values that have guided the Dream Day Foundation since we were founded in Baton Rouge in 1994.
