At Dream Day Foundation, we are deeply committed to enhancing the quality of life for St. Jude patients and their families through meaningful events, advocacy, and community support. None of this would be possible without the generous spirit of our local partners — and today, we want to shine a bright spotlight on one very special group: Cajun Navy 2016.
From the moment we began working together, the volunteers of Cajun Navy 2016 have shown up with open hearts, ready hands, and a true commitment to making a difference for families facing pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
Their support has taken many beautiful forms:
- Volunteering at Fishin’ Galore — our flagship annual event. Cajun Navy volunteers help create one of the best days of the year for over 100 St. Jude patients and families, filled with fishing, food, laughter, and lasting memories.
- Showing up at the office — lending a helping hand with day-to-day needs and preparations that keep our programs running smoothly.
- Celebrating National Lego Day — sponsoring and bringing creativity, fun, and smiles to the kids during treatment with a community Lego build and take-home Lego sets – turning an ordinary day into something special.
- Donating a charger tower with device chargers — a thoughtful, practical gift that helps families stay connected and powered up during long days at the clinic.
These acts of service may seem like “small” contributions on the surface, but to the families walking this challenging journey, they mean the world. A charged phone to call loved ones, a fun afternoon building with Legos, or an unforgettable day fishing under the Louisiana sun — these moments bring joy, comfort, and a sense of community when it’s needed most.
We are truly grateful for the partnership we’ve built with Cajun Navy 2016. Their willingness to serve alongside us demonstrates what community is all about: showing up, stepping in, and lifting others up with kindness and action.
