2020 Fishin’ Galore

It’s the best day of the year!

Dream Day Foundation holds their annual Fishin’ Galore event in May at the 3 Bar E Ranch in Clinton, LA. Every year over one hundred St. Jude patients and their families enjoy a fun filled day of fishing, food and friendship. Participants arrive as early as 5 a.m. to pick up crickets and fishing gear provided by generous sponsors. With the help of our many volunteers, patients and family members enjoy fishing festivities, arts and crafts, petting zoo fun, and face painting.

Local law enforcement escort buses of eager patients and families members from their hotel to the ranch where they are greeted by hundreds of excited volunteers and guests. After a grand entrance, the celebration of life and support lasts all day. Activities include finger painting three small horses; candy and sand art; skeet shooting; an archery booth; Clowns and Entertainment; wagon rides and fishing brim and bass! Delicious snacks are served all day.

Karaoke is a popular activity for the patients to be in the spot light. The closing ceremony wraps up the event with a huge balloon release and tossing Mardi Gras beads in memory of the patients and volunteers that have passed on. The event made such an impact that many patients are gearing up for next year’s event! The smiles, togetherness, and laughter made Fishin’ Galore an event that will be in the hearts of the St. Jude family for years to come.
